First built in 555, this magnificent Buddhist Monastery has a well-arranged layout. It was here that Lu Zhishen, the imprudent monk from Heroes of the Marshes, a Chinese classic, pulled out a willow tree. The Octagonal Glazed Hall houses 500 lifelike Arhat statues and a golden statue of valokiteshvara, Goddess of Mercy, with thousand hands and eyes. Legend has it that the statue was engraved out of a ginkgo tree in Qing Dynasty.
